Expertise Description

With more than 15 years experience as an animal behaviorist practicing general and emergency veterinary medicine, my career has been focused working on behavior and exotic pet medicine. I perform behavior assessment tests for common problems, such as aggression, separation anxiety, storm/noise phobia, compulsive disorders, and unruliness; and also true neurophysiologic or neurodevelopmental problems, such as hyperkinesis or impulse control disorders. I have also been working for over a decade as an animal behavior expert witness in Texas.

Professional Experiences

My professional experience includes teaching at a university. My responsibilities primarily include clinical teaching (75% clinical time) of professional students in the areas of general and behavioral medicine. This includes student rounds presentations and supervision of clinical cases in the above mentioned areas. I have also participated in teaching didactic electives in the field of animal behavior and behavior lectures for year 1-3 professional students.
