Examples of notable designs are a highly articulated hybrid mobile robot for DARPA being adapted for military and police EOD application, and miniature MEMS-based actuator devices with integrated sensing for Proteomics and Genomics applications and 3D printing. Hands-on experience in mechanical engineering in the industrial and manufacturing sectors including, experience in the design of multi-scale machinery, manufacturing processes, and product design. Ph.D in robotics and mechatronics. Highly experience in developing socially assistive robot systems, including assistive robotics for elderly. Has authored and co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles in the fields of expertise including books, book chapters, patents, journals, and conference proceedings. Member, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Member, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
