M.D. – Experienced Neurosurgeon. Treats conditions of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves with operations. Injuries cause skull fractures, blood clots on the brain (subdural, epidural, and intracerebral hematomas), or spine fractures with disc ruptures / herniations with or without damage to spinal cord and nerves. Infection can cause brain abscess or spinal abscesses that must be drained. Tumors in the head are often benign and may now be treated frequently with radiosurgery. Degenerative conditions of the spine area common cause of pain or nerve / spinal cord compression requiring surgery, such as disc herniations, spinal stenosis, or spondylolisthesis. Most strokes are treated non-surgically, except for hemorrhagic strokes, when blood clots in the brain may require surgical removal or a leaking aneurysm requires surgical clipping. Common nerve injuries operated on are carpal tunnel syndrome and ulnar nerve entrapment at the elbow. Prior expert witness experience. Consultations, depositions, and courtroom testimony.
