I have more than 15 years experience in agribusiness. My experience includes conducting econometric analyses of strategic behavior of food retailers, food manufacturers, and food wholesalers. I am actively involved in a number of research projects concerning consumer behavior with respect to food safety, food labeling, advertising, economic efficiency, and promotion and food service environments (fast food). I conduct research for the USDA on insect pests, invasive species (insects not native to the United States), commodity price inflation, and the causes of adult and childhood obesity. I have won awards for research in agricultural labor markets, derivative pricing and innovation in food product markets. I have experience with all manner of institutions and markets associated with the U.S. fresh produce industry.

My expertise is in the economics of the supermarket retailing industry, specifically monopolization and market power issues associated with market structure and pricing behavior. I have published extensively in this area, and work actively as a consultant to retailers, and food suppliers that sell through food retailers.
