Expertise DescriptionI have over 30 years experience in automotive issues. I have conducted vehicle and forensic inspections in the following areas: mechanical, vehicle fire cause and origin, engine and component failure analysis, accident reconstruction (mechanical), Lemon law investigations, subrogation issues and reports, body shop/service department fraud investigations, parts inspections and identification, product failure analysis, design defect analysis and damage appraisal. My other areas of expertise include engine and powertrain, service and anti-lock brake systems (air and hydraulic), advanced electronics and computer systems, supplemental restraint systems, automotive safety systems, automotive and heavy truck body and frame, tires, and handicapped controls/assistive devices. I have prior expert witness experience.

My professional experience includes being a Field Service Engineer, with prior experience as an Engineer and Instructor of Automotive Technology, Body Shop Manager and Service Manager, Service Manager and Shop Foreman, Instructor of Automotive Technology, Manager, Senior Technician and Owner, and Senior Technician, Plant Engineer and Fleet Administrator.
I am highly familiar with body shop usual and customary practices as well as collision industry standards. I am ASE Master Certified in Body Collision and Refinish Technician. I am familiar with consumer defect cases and class action.
I also have a great deal of experience in heavy trucks and general equipment. I have handled many, many heavy truck and bus fires for different transportation companies and their carriers.
I’m highly familiar with the Takata issues and why the propellant causes a Takata system to shred its casing and pierce the airbag with shrapnel. Yes, I am highly familiar with the issues that cause SRS systems to fail to deploy.
I have worked to refine frame issues on heavy trucks once in service. No, I never worked at a factory designing frames for a living. I have serviced frames, and have built NASCAR frames/cars. I have frame straightening certification. I’m familiar with new heavy trucks.
There are many reasons a tire can fly apart. When it does fly apart or go flat, the consumer usually doesn’t associate the running over a hazard last week with a failure this week.
I am highly familiar with modified suspension packages and TRD products.
I handle many, many lemon actions every year for other firms.
I am certified on air brakes as well as hydraulic brakes or any variation thereof.
I can assist with steering column issues. I am also quite skilled in fraud and staged collisions.
I have some experience in appraising heavy trucks and lost revenue.
