Expertise DescriptionI have over thirty years of experience in the field of Research and Technical Management in the Energy and Automotive industries with expertise in automotive safety devices, automotive electronics, alternate energy products, and sensors of all types. I have additional knowledge in software development, new product development, micromachined devices, fluid dynamic systems, designs of superconducting energy storage devices, magnetic power conversion devices for space satellites, and megawatt size solar energy. I have more than 15 years expert witness experience with consultations, deposition, and courtroom testimony.
Areas of Expertise
My expert Witness experience includes product liability cases involving persons injured by malfunction of frontal airbag safety system either non-deployment, unwanted deployment or late deployment. As well as failure of side impact system in side impact and rollover, occupant sensor system malfunctions, persons loss of eyesight from airbag deployment, and tinnitus from airbag deployment. Patent litigation cases includes design of frontal airbag sensing system, side impact sensing system deployment, and occupant identification system.
In 1980-1982 I ran the alternate energy program for the former Ebasco Services. In 1983 I ran a project aimed at using photovoltaic cells to provide power for remotely located highway safety systems in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including lighting for two long tunnels. I am well versed in the economics of power generation and energy storage. Most recently I am one of the co-founders of AquaEnergy, which is a company formed with the intention of providing non-battery energy storage to independent power producers including wind farms and photovoltaic power systems. I am aware of the economic implications of the tariff issue on the solar industry.
