Relevant Experiences

I am very familiar with the requirements of New York State Labor Law and have experience consulting on matters involving same for active construction sites, as well as in Forensic Engineering/accident reconstruction matters involving claims that are made as part of litigation for construction site accidents. I have experience consulting on matters involving scaffolds, grinders, and safety lines. I am also familiar with requirements, such as those found in OSHA regulations, regarding attachment of scaffolding to facades at work areas.

I am familiar with the process of construction in NY, including for commercial construction.  I understand and have experience consulting on matters which include construction schedules and associated delays. In addition to my Forensic Engineering experience on construction matters, I also have experience working with contractors, construction managers, general contractors, and property owners, as well as experience preparing construction schedules and inspecting for compliance.

In addition to being a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York, I am also certified by NYS Department of State Codes Division as a Code Enforcement Official. Accordingly, I am very familiar with building codes which apply to steps. That being said, as an engineer who also devotes a portion of my practice to such Forensic Engineering matters, I am also comfortable discussing whether or not any potential alleged code violations might or might not be related to the proximate cause of an accident.

I regularly work with insurance company clients in their defense of claims regarding boiler instrumentation and control claims, and also have experience working with plaintiffs regarding such matters. I also have experience conducting engineering inspections of existing boilers and control systems, and have experience designing boiler replacement projects.

As you may already be aware, consulting with those purchasing and/or already owning single family residences, particularly with regards to their condition, including problems, defects, and deficiencies, is a regular part of my practice. This work includes consulting on claims on behalf of home owners, builders, and developers, and include issues related to foundation walls, as well as soil and fill conditions, among other aspects of the construction. While we do not provide appraisal or valuation services, we do provide services regarding damages, repairs, cost estimates, and causation. While I am headquartered in NY, I am open to travel when client needs necessitate same.

I am available to consult on slip, trip, and fall matters, including those involving staircases and ground conditions, and accidents which occur, or are alleged to have occurred, in commercial establishments. Consulting on such Forensic Engineering matters is an expertise of my practice, in addition to the design, inspection, and code certification compliance aspects of the practice.

I have consulted on matters involving the maintenance and repair of underground water and sewage utilities.

I have experience analyzing and consulting on matters involving leaks, including leaks from piping, valves, and fittings, and including both plastic and metal materials. I have extensive experience providing forensic engineering services. I can assist with evaluation regarding damage that has been done by span fatigue, physical damage, incompatibility of materials, or other similarly visually observable failure mechanism.
