I am responsible for system load calculations, equipment specification, workplace layout, and system layout and analysis. My projects include applications for laboratories, offices, and retail / institutional / educational spaces. I have more than 10 years expert witness experience.
Areas of Expertise
My expert witness experience includes: the evaluation of deficiencies with sanitary sewer piping systems for a new facility, including the review of the original design documents (drawings and specifications); the evaluation of mechanical systems for a large high-rise multi-family residential building, including the review of shop drawings, contracts, and expert reports from others; the investigation of the cause and origin of damage to a structure claimed to be from a fire in the furnace; the investigation of the cause and origin of damage to a structure claimed to be from leaking piping; the investigation of the cause and origin of damage to a structure claimed to be from a lightning strike.
My consulting services include: the design of HVAC systems and renovations for a laboratory space, including phasing to maintain continuous operations during construction; the design of mechanical systems for a Cardiac Rehabilitation facility addition and for renovations for a sub-acute care Unit for a hospital; numerous new school, addition and renovation projects, including higher education design projects at community and university colleges.
