Expertise DescriptionI have more than 35 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer with expertise in combustion, internal combustion engines, fuels, emissions, engine control systems, emissions control systems, and automotive engineering. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering followed by three graduate degrees culminating in a PhD with a specialization in combustion. I joined as faculty of a Department of Mechanical Engineering where I established their combustion and engines research program. I have been involved in research in the area of combustion, engines, emissions, and alternative fuels for over 35 years. My research includes both experimental work and numerical modeling of both fundamental combustion processes and combustion within engines. My present research is focused primarily on the spark ignition process, modeling heavy-duty Diesel engines, and methods for improving fuel consumption for both light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles. I have over 20 years of expert witness experience with consultation, deposition, and courtroom testimony.
