Expertise DescriptionI have more than 30 years experience in the field of Computer Science with expertise in distributed systems, networking, operating systems, user interfaces, and privacy. I have experience with web performance of servers, internet protocol (IP), networking protocols, cache validation, proxy caches, privacy risks, user centered network measurement platforms, and online tracking. I have over 15 years expert witness experience with consultation, deposition, and courtroom testimony.
Areas of Expertise
My expert witness experience includes: patent infringement case of a patent holder against shopping mall developers regarding infringement of interactive shopping mall maps; patent validity of a patent holder in regards to visual design expert-like system; class action law suit regarding violation of Video Privacy Protection Act; patent infringement case for software patent held by debt recovery company; patent infringement case of a patent holder against major social networking sites regarding settings on how information is shared; class action law suit against major social networking sites for release of person-ally identifying information; part of a patent reexamination case; software company seeks damages against another software company for unlicensed use its products; and provided expert analysis on similarity of source code.
My professional experience includes being the Department Head and Professor of Computer Science, with prior experience as a Professor, Associate Professor, Visiting Faculty, Assistant Professor, Designer and Developer, and Instructor.
I teach and have done work in virtualization, which is a relevant component of the two patents.
