Expertise DescriptionI have more than 15 years of experience in the field of Construction as a Professional Engineer in multiple states. I instruct on the subjects of Construction Management and Science with teaching interest in structural engineering with regard to steel, concrete, timber, wind loads, and seismic loads; MEP design and analysis; construction project management with regard to scheduling, estimating, and strategic bidding; capstone, and Building Information Modeling (BIM). I am published in my field and also provide presentations. I have over 5 years of expert witness experience with consultations, deposition, and courtroom testimony.

I have experience with offering consulting engineering services to major real estate firms, the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) and many major financial institutions.
I have experience as a Senior Structural Engineer with a background in structural systems design and analysis, civil site design/ construction and commercial and industrial construction management. I have also taught civil engineering and construction management at in several universities. With over 30 years of industry and academic experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge to clients from being involved on a daily basis with owners, design professionals, inspection authorities and insurance companies. I have extensive experience in the inspection of properties that have suffered catastrophic damage from natural disasters such as Hurricanes Hugo, Opal, Katrina and Sandy. I have served as the Principal Engineer for a design/build firm that was primarily involved in Federal Government projects for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Agency, Department of the Interior, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast (NAVFAC SE) and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). I owned and managed a small design-build firm that provided services to national credit tenant clients, financial institution clients, retail and industrial facilities clients.
My experience includes multiple investigations of construction site safety issues including:
1. Fall protection for personnel;
2. Controlled Access Zone (CAZ) determination;
3. Scaffolding set-up, utilization and deconstruct;
4. Investigation of falls from residential framing projects;
5. Tie-off point integrity;
6. Work plans for roofing projects;
7. Development of Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) for roofing projects.
Additionally, I have investigated many cases of construction site accidents utilizing the OSHA regulations as the basis for my determinations. The geographical range for my investigations extends from New York (Manhattan) to Phoenix, AZ, to Miami, Florida.
I have the capability to opine on the above referenced matter by virtue of the following:
1. 25 years of electrical power distribution systems design;
2. Installation of electrical power and lighting systems since 1970;
3. Taught electrical systems at a university and Technical College level for 6 years;
4. Testified in Federal court concerning proper installation methods of electrical systems at the residential and commercial levels;
5. Personally involved in the design, installation, and maintenance of residential,
commercial, and industrial electrical systems.
