Expertise DescriptionI have more than 30 years of experience in emergency medicine in a busy, urban, community emergency department. I am residence trained in family medicine. As Medical Director for over 20 years I have considerable experience in quality assurance and case evaluations as well as pre-hospital and emergency department policies and protocols. I have worked part-time as a medico-legal consultant for malpractice and criminal cases, and have participated in depositions and courtroom trials. I have been providing consultations, courtroom testimony, and deposition for over 30 years as an emergency medicine and emergency room expert witness in Northern California.
Areas of Expertise
My expert witness experience includes over 90 cases since 1986, including malpractice cases, nursing home abuse, DMV administrative hearings, and criminal cases involving assaults and motor vehicle accidents. I believe I have been most helpful to attorneys when I am involved early in a case to help establish merit or lack thereof, and to assist attorneys in developing questions for depositions and discovery.
My consulting experience includes the review of medical records, x-ray studies, photographic evidence of injury and accident, analysis of merits and risks of individual cases, developing questions for deposition, participating in depositions, trials, and administrative hearings.
My professional experience includes clinical practice in emergency medicine for 30+ years, administrative responsibility for emergency medicine group for 20 years, development and management of adult and pediatric hospitalist services, medico-legal consulting.
