I am a well-trained endocrinologist with over 10 years of experience caring for patients with diabetes. Being a specialist, I often have to care for patients referred with advanced stages of diabetes with several complications including neuropathy, retinopathy and nephropathy that result from chronic poor control of their disease. These patients often require treatment with insulin.
I work full time and on average, I take care of over 200 patients with diabetes in every given month. I practice in an academic setting and my responsibilities also include teaching medical students and other doctors about topics related to diabetes and other endocrine conditions. In addition, I conduct research with a focus on the acute and chronic complications of diabetes including hyperglycemia management, hypoglycemia, inflammation and the complications of inflammation that are related to diabetes. I have published several peer-reviewed articles related to my research.
