ForensisGroup Flammability Expert Witnesses study the ability of a chemical to burn or ignite, causing fire or combustion. The degree of difficulty required to cause the combustion of a chemical is measured through fire testing. Usually materials are rated as highly flammable, flammable and non-flammable.
Our flammability experts evaluate products submitted for testing for quality and safety issues and prepare a variety of samples for testing using prescribed testing methods. They prepare and maintain Burn Test Plans (BTP’s), and provide analysis of various burn test results and recommendations to design engineers.
Some of these experts have expertise in fabric flammability, quality assurance, fiber engineering, fire performance of fabrics and other materials used for wearing apparel and interior furnishings. They often opine on issues of flammability standards, fabric care, useful life of textiles, testing on textiles and dyestuffs, as well as conventional and new texturing technology processes.
They have degrees in a technical field or equivalent work experience with CFR/CS Part 25 Flammability Testing and knowledge of Current FAA/EASA Policy related to Flammability.
