I have spent more than 30 years as a practicing civil and structural engineer, specializing in construction and building inspections, structural engineering, civil engineering, and traffic accident reconstruction. Expertise Description

I have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley, an MS in Engineering Mechanics from Illinois Institute of Technology and a BS in Civil Engineering from Cooper Union.  I am also licensed as a Safety Engineer by the State of California.  I have more than 25 years experience in Accident Reconstruction and Safety (including human factors) for litigation as well as prior industrial experience.  Applications include: Vehicular collisions (all types including pedestrians, bicycles, etc) and occupant biomechanics; Vehicular component failures; Pedestrian accidents (Slip, trip, stairs, ramps, sidewalks, coefficient of friction); Premises liability (Building codes, lighting, glass, screens, manual and electronic gates); Industrial & Construction Accidents (ladders, scaffolds, machine guarding, forklifts, construction vehicles, conveyors, lifts, hoists, mechanical fasteners); Products liability (industrial and consumer); Criminal cases requiring expertise in the physical sciences.  I have extensive expert testimony experience in trials, arbitrations, depositions and hearings.  My plaintiff-to-defendant retention ratio is approximately 50:50.
