I have more than 15 years expert witness experience with consultations, deposition, and courtroom testimony.

My consulting services include: Lecturing and teaching at graduate level; Investigating furniture flammability for European laboratories; Technical consultant to three major, multi-national fire safety research projects organized by the European Commission; focused on characterizing furniture fire performance and developing fire models and fire test methods for this category of product; Headed up various programs and research groups in the area of materials flammability, fire toxicity, upholstered furniture flammability, building code fire safety requirements, and fire resistance; Invented instruments to measure fire properties of materials and products, such as furniture items, stored goods, appliances, and other commodities.
I have in-depth experience in flammable liquids and their explosions, which is covered in detail in my book. This is the only comprehensive treatise on the subject and delves into the subject in thorough detail. I am a fire safety scientist. I have worked on warnings and labels issues in numerous cases.
I have done more research on electrical fires than any other US scientist in forensic practice.

I have been a member of ICBO (now, ICC), the institution that issues the International Building Code and related codes since the 1970s. I have testified numerous times concerning code improprieties. I have written on various code-related issues again since the 1970s.
In my research work at a government laboratory agency, I was head of Fire Toxicity and did research on burn injuries as part of that research effort, so I am very familiar with burn injury research.
I am an expert in spontaneous combustion, and my handbook is one of the few authoritative scientific treatises on the topic.
