Expertise DescriptionI have over 15 years experience specializing in wildland fire science; field experience with fire in most forests, rangelands, and grasslands in the western United States; designed fire hazard reduction treatments in coniferous forests in the Sierra Nevada; been involved in dozens of prescribed fires including ignitions, holding, and incident commander; taught forestry including fire ecology, fire behavior, dendrology, introductory silviculture, hardwood ecosystems, fire science seminar, and disturbance ecology; and assisted in the evaluation and design of natural preserves. I have prior expert witness experience with consultations, deposition, and courtroom testimony.
