Expertise DescriptionI have more than 20 years experience as a career firefighter in the field of Emergency Response. My expertise includes training records of the fire department employee, emergency vehicle procedures, determination of driver’s scope of practice and/or level of training, fire department policies and procedures, and state vehicle code compliance. My additional experience includes driving and operating fire apparatus and equipment, fire engines, aerial ladder truck, support vehicles, ambulances, fire suppression, aircraft / crash rescue, dispatched emergencies, emergency medical services, and fire prevention. My extensive knowledge in law enforcement vehicles relating to driving to an emergency incident, specifically as it relates to conditions warranting a code 3 response and emergency vehicle accidents. I have experience as a paramedic and providing expertise in pre-hospital care as well as how it relates to responding under emergency conditions while transporting patients to hospital destinations. I have prior expert witness experience with consultations, deposition, and courtroom testimony.

My expert witness experience includes a lawsuit involving a fire engine for a fire department that was involved in a major collision with a tour bus on a freeway, one fatality, and numerous injured persons; a lawsuit involving a fire department ambulance in an accident while transporting a patient to the hospital, one fatality, and injury to multiple persons; and a fire department ambulance involved in a collision while transporting a patient code 3 to a hospital.
