I have been involved in many Design-Build projects that have been built in California. The value of these projects has ranged from a few million dollars to multi-millions. The process of initial design concept-budget issues-bidding the construction and architect’s involvement in construction administration must be understood by all parties.
My experience in designing High-end homes goes back to my first days as an architect in Illinois. That was the main focus of the firm I worked with.
Since starting my own firm in California in the 70s I have continued to design homes as part of a diversified practice.
I have also consulted as an expert, in California, in many cases that have involved large elegant homes.
Also, I have constructed and modified several homes in the state. In addition, I have held a B-1 general contractors license in California, for a number of years.
During my 30+ years testifying as an expert I have had many situations where roofs were involved. Some are pure waterproofing situations, but many are due to poor workmanship.
I have been involved in many projects in southern California over the last 40 years as an architect.
I have had personal involvement in solar electrical design and installation, for clients, and my own 5000-watt solar system, for my residence, during the last 20+ years
