Expertise DescriptionI have over 45 years experience in the practical application of the geological sciences with expertise in construction and professional liability claims, environmental and permitting issues, and geologic site condition analyses. I have more than 35 years expert witness experience with consultations, depositions, and courtroom testimony.
Areas of Expertise
My experience includes being the project manager for all route planning and geotechnical work for a major pipeline in Washington state. As part of my consulting work I have reviewed hundreds of miles of gas pipeline routes to assess any geologic hazards that may compromise the integrity of the pipeline. I have also worked on a notable Alaskan pipeline project during construction. I am fully familiar with pipeline construction techniques and the potential environmental effects that pipelines can have.
My staff and I performed many projects that involved locating utilities as part of engineering due diligence prior to construction activities. I was in charge of geologic site characterization and evaluation of a contractor’s claim of changed conditions. I am fully familiar with standard utility location practices and the methods that are available for use where dictated by difficult ground or water conditions and/or density of utilities.
I am familiar with groundwater and ground conditions in the Pacific Northwest as well as in other states and countries. My experience also includes work on oil and gas pipelines in the Pacific Northwest.
