Expertise DescriptionI have more than 45 years experience in glass science. My expertise includes spontaneous glass breakage from NiS stones, glass forensics, ballistics, residual stress analysis and fractology analysis, glass injury issues, product liability for glass doors, glass shower enclosures, glass storm doors, vases, building codes, American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) / American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards, glass quality issues, glass strength measurement, insulated glass failures, Ring-on-Ring and 4 point strength testing, ballistics testing, and uses of strain gauges. I have over 5 years expert witness experience with consultations, deposition, and courtroom testimony.

My consulting services include: Conduct of Research and Development and process optimization in most aspects of glass manufacture, glass chemistry, and glass properties; Identification of additives to the glass batch that virtually eliminated spontaneous glass breakage of fully tempered (safety) glass.
I am an expert in glass fracture and would be able to characterize the fracture and to determine the breaking stress of the glass fracture and to determine if the glass objects were properly packaged.
I have recently served as an expert in another case against a manufacturer of bathroom products. I was employed by a glass development technology company for 40 years. I am very knowledgeable in tempered glass technology.
