Expertise DescriptionI have more than 30 years in the Packaging and Beverage Industries with expertise in developing plastic closures for soft drink bottles and managing corporate package testing labs. I have additional experience in quality glass bottles, consumer behavior, primary and secondary packaging, production equipment and breakage, and distribution channels on 6-continents. I have additional experience with support in product liability, extortion, counterfeiting, and regulatory cases. I have prior expert witness experience with consultations and deposition.
Areas of Expertise
My expert witness experience includes comparing brand owners development of package safety device against industry best practices in product liability case; analyzed pharmaceutical company's quality assurance data against FDA requirements; performed fracture analysis of a large glass vase; audited procedures in three international glass plants; compared beverage company's actions against industry practices; tested glass bottle similar to the one used in a criminal assault case; and inspected glass bottle and alleged ingested fragments to demonstrate fraud.
My consulting experience includes glass container design, production, filling, and decorating; package development practices and consideration; process improvement by application of 6-Sigma principles; breakage reduction through fracture analysis of samples collected in line and distribution audits; cost reduction through package light weighting; product efficiency improvement by identifying the cause of line bottlenecks; beverage production services for new product introductions; and due diligence reviewing operations and business plan of a materials recycler.
My professional experience includes being Owner and Consultant of a supply chain firm, as well as having been Senior Manager of Supply Chain Optimization of a Beverage Company.
My last role during my 28-years at The Coca-Cola Company was in Global Supply Chain Development where I worked with our bottlers and their bottling equipment suppliers to identify optimum bottling systems. During that time I lead the development and commercialization of patented bottling equipment which included specialized software integrated with existing equipment. As a consultant, I have continued to work in bottling plants.
