I have over 30 years experience in the field of Psychology specializing in industrial and organizational psychology. My expertise includes: job analysis and development; validation and review of procedures for recruitment; and selection and promotion of employees. I am experienced with issues involving layoffs and have developed and implemented performance-based layoff procedures. I have experience consulting or testifying in cases involving the following: disparate impact and disparate treatment discrimination cases including statistical analysis of employment data; development and validation of employee hiring and promotion procedures; employment discrimination based on race / ethnicity, sex, or age; job analysis; whistleblower and wrongful termination litigation; personnel policies and procedures; Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE); meal break violations; and statistical / research assistance in pay equity and wage and hour disputes. I have more than 25 years expert witness experience with consultations, deposition, and courtroom testimony.

Relevant Experiences

I have more than 30 years of experience with a wide variety of human resources issues in both the public and private sectors. In my litigation consulting practice I work with both defense and plaintiff counsel. In addition to my expert witness work, I provide consulting services to employers on a variety of human resources issues including human resources processes and procedures.

I have extensive experience with disparate impact in a wide variety of cases, including fire and police individual and class action matters involving city, county and state jurisdictions. I have a Ph.D. in measurement and evaluation plus more than 30 years of experience in personnel assessment and selection issues. I served for 9 years as head of personnel research for the City of Los Angeles and have served as a consultant and expert witness in many cases including both individual and class action litigation involving both disparate impact and disparate treatment. I have worked in both state and federal matters.

I have been consulted as a consulting and testifying expert in wage and hour disputes involving several matters involving restaurant chains, including:
• A class action involving a 12 restaurant chain of fine dining restaurants
• A class action involving a major chain of fast food Mexican restaurants
• A case involving a chain of Pizza delivery restaurants
Various wage and hour class action involving alleged wage and hour violations, including:
• A wage and hour class action involving a national wireless telecom company
• A piecework-based wage and hour class action concerning a large (2,000 employee) dental appliance company
And various individual and class action matters involving wage and hour claims.
