My professional experience includes Senior Industrial Hygienist/Safety Professional, Industrial Safety and Health Manager, Safety and Industrial Hygiene Manager, Senior Risk Management and EHS Consultant, and Occupational Safety and Environmental Compliances (OSEC) Manager.
I have dealt with numerous crane incidents and accidents during my 38 plus years of professional safety and health experience in the manufacturing, construction, and public service sectors (dating back to the late 1970’s). I was employed as the Safety and Industrial Hygiene Manager by a large private construction company at the Department of Energy (DOE) that made nuclear weapons for the US government. I was also employed as the Industrial Safety and Health Manager for the sole supplier of nuclear fuels for the United States Navy. During these times, I held DOE U and NRC L national security clearances. I am responsible for the planning, development and implementation of legally compliant County-wide loss prevention and control programs, Workers Compensation programs, California OSHA compliance programs, construction safety, and California EPA environmental compliance programs (including asbestos) for the ninth largest county in the United States (with an annual budget of over $5.4 billion dollars). On a part-time basis, and with the knowledge and consent of my employer, I conduct Independent Expert Witness/Consultant services.
