I practice at a kidney transplant center and care for patients being worked up for, receiving, and with a history of prior kidney transplantation. In addition to my clinical work, I am an active clinical researcher with a research focus on acute kidney injury and end stage kidney disease. I have conducted clinical trials focused on identifying effective treatment strategies for patients with different forms of kidney disease. I am also the author of many articles, manuscripts, and book chapters in the field of nephrology. I have over 5 years of expert witness experience including consultations, deposition, and courtroom testimony.
Areas of Expertise
As a nephrologist, I care for many patients with hypertension.
I am very familiar with the class of medications referred to as Erythropoesis Stimulating Agents (ESA). ESAs are used to treat anemia, principally in the context of chronic and end-stage renal disease as well as in cancer and use of chemotherapeutic agents for cancer. As a nephrologist, i regularly use these agents in patients who have kidney disease.
As a clinical researcher in the field of nephrology, I have extensive experience with the process of informed consent and issues related to IRBs. I also have substantial experience diagnosing and treating patients with rhabdomyolysis and its complications in my clinical practice.
