Expertise DescriptionI have more than 20 years of experience in Landscape Architecture. I am licensed in Ohio since 2001 and have a uniquely well-rounded background as a professional in the private sector, one that I supplemented by serving as the City Landscape Architect for over 7 years. I possess solid experience in the key facets of landscape architecture and site design, including landscape and planting design, site planning, and stormwater management. My body of work is diverse as well, covering a wide range of project types from public works and commercial mixed-use developments to recreational facilities and private residential gardens. Creative and skilled, I have guided my projects from feasibility study and concept design through site coordination and construction administration. By combining a finessed design savvy with a strong attention to detail, I have successfully planned and implemented countless projects that help to build community while meeting client goals.
Areas of Expertise
As a planner and landscape architect for commercial developers nationwide, I have extensive experience working with zoning codes, design guidelines, and comprehensive plans. Further, as a representative for my clients, I am generally required to research local ordinances–many of which are the modern form-based code format–and serve as a liaison between developer and municipality alike as I negotiate ways to develop property to the best and highest uses in a manner that is amenable to officials, regulations, and the community at-large.
One of my recent projects included the design and details for a netted backstop that is supported on in-ground poles and was installed to protect spectators behind home plate. I have other related experience as well with upright, in-ground site features such as light poles, sports equipment, and fence posts.
I have some background designing simple fountains with pumps as well as children’s splash pads and the like.
