I specialize in mechanical engineering, in relation to thermal management, smart materials, composite materials; aerospace engineering, specializing in the areas of electronic packaging and sensors; civil engineering, with specialization in concrete; chemical engineering, in the areas of fuel cells, batteries, activated carbon, and filter membranes; metallurgical engineering, and electrical engineering. I have more than 15 years expert witness experience.

I have 25 years of experience in material testing, including the mechanical, chemical and thermal testing of polymeric materials. I hold a Ph.D. degree in Materials Science.

Specifically, my experience pertains to the processing, structure, properties (including wear and corrosion behavior) and failure analysis of metal-based materials. In addition, I am experienced in corrosion research (with a few papers published on corrosion) and in particles research (in relation to the use of metal particles in powder metallurgy, thick film processing, pastes and composites). Over the last 40 years, I have a total of about 550 archival peer-reviewed professional journal papers published on various types of materials.

I have published numerous peer-reviewed professional journal papers on the mechanical behavior of fibrous materials, including the tensile and flexural behavior and the damage mechanisms. I am experienced in failure analysis. I have over 500 peer-reviewed professional journal papers published over the years. Due to my research accomplishments, I have received numerous awards, including Fellow of ASM International (a materials professional society), Fellow of American Carbon Society, Pettinos Award from American Carbon Society, among others.

I am an expert on fastening, including the fastening of composite components, the fastening of metal components and the fastening of polymer components, as indicated by quite a few relevant peer-reviewed professional journal publications. I have experience in welding, joining, materials and electrical components. I have extensive experience in the combined use of molecular materials and metals and their interactions. In addition, I have many years of experience studying material degradation and its mechanisms. My research contribution relates to the effect of fastening and unfastening on the interface between the components that are fastened together. In particular, I discovered that fastening has both reversible and irreversible effects on this interface.

I have much experience in processing and studying polymeric materials, as shown by my peer-reviewed publications.  My experience includes silicone and various types of molding.

I have conducted such failure analysis work for numerous times over the last few decades. My expertise is in materials, including metals, mechanical behavior, and failure mechanisms.

I have expertise in metals and materials, particularly their mechanical behavior, including metals and metal oxides.

I have performed quite a number of failure analyses of metallic components over the years. By failure analysis, I mean the examination of the failed component in order to obtain information on the likely cause of the failure.
