My areas of expertise include: scanning electron microscopy, fracture mechanics, metallurgical tests and techniques. I have investigated consumer product failures including turbine/heat exchanger failures, glass failures, metal and plastic chair failures, composite poles, ski-boots, chains, seatbelts, ladders, piping defects, and tires. I have more than 35 years expert witness experience with consultations, deposition, and courtroom testimony.

My consulting services include: Failure analysis, materials selection, product liability, and product development; Scanning electron microscopy, fracture mechanics, metallurgical tests and techniques; Failure analysis investigations on aerospace, automotive, and oilfield materials; Conducted DOD / DOE sponsored research on pressure vessel and tool steels; Taught courses, including Failure Analysis of Composites, Failure Analysis of Engineering Materials, Fractography of Engineering Materials, and Failure Analysis of Aerospace Materials.
