Expertise DescriptionI have more than 40 years of experience in the chemical and oil and gas sectors with expertise in exploration and production. My recent work areas have focused on well construction – casing design and cementing, well integrity, solids injection (fracture slurry injection), CO2 geologic sequestration, and hydraulic fracturing/stimulation of tight oil/gas reservoirs. I have in-depth experience and knowledge of production operations, well testing, reservoir engineering, geophysical logging, drilling, stimulation, completion, and workover operations. Previous international experience includes chemical process engineering in Germany, petroleum engineering (production of oil and gas both off-shore and onshore) in Saudi Arabia, and in oil and gas E&P production/operations and waste management, and injection/disposal wells in the United States. I have over 20 years of expert witness experience with consultation, deposition, and courtroom testimony.
Areas of Expertise
I have a strong knowledge of the use of Drag-reducing agents (DRAs) (also referred to friction reducers or Flow Improvers) for the transportation of crude oils in pipelines along with extensive petroleum engineering expertise with wide range of crude oils (from light to moderate to heavy crudes).
I have a BS in chemical engineering and a MS in petroleum engineering. I am a registered professional petroleum engineer in CO and WY.
I have drilled in a region of the Appalachian Basin that presented unique challenges including hole instability (stuck pipe), lost circulation and clay swelling etc. This leads to the importance of managing fluid influx into the wellbore, timely cementing and the importance of obtaining a good primary cementing job with good zonal isolation (and preventing annular gas migration).
