Areas of Expertise

Relevant Experiences

I have extensive experience with industrial gas turbine engines including aero derivatives. As lead process engineer for a gas technology company and as an energy consultant, I have worked on independent power plant (IPP) projects and co-generation facilities in both simple and combined cycle configurations.

I have designed and operated plants utilizing closed-loop and open-loop cooling systems. I understand and have evaluated the parasitic load for a power generation facility and how that affects the net electric power deliverable to the grid. I have reviewed on other matters and am familiar with Power Purchase Agreements between a power generation entity and electricity transmission and distribution companies.

I have previously served as a technical expert and external auditor for utility companies and been engaged on matters involving the performance and construction of independent power plants. I am currently engaged by the Owner on a dispute involving the operation, maintenance, and end-of-life inspection of a GE Frame 5 turbine in a mechanical drive (natural gas compression) application.
