Expertise DescriptionI am experienced in pipeline engineering issues, having over 35 years of experience. My areas of expertise include: gas and liquid pipelines, pipeline integrity, pipeline hydrostatic testing, and failures of pipelines. I also have experience with compressor stations, pump stations and equipment such as pumps, compressors, and gas turbines. I have more than 25 years of expert witness experience with consultations, deposition, and courtroom testimony.
Areas of Expertise
My expert witness experience includes pipeline engineering/design issues, construction issues, pipeline construction disputes between owners and construction contractors, testing and inspecting deficiencies and inaccuracies, as well as, regulatory compliance and adherence to industry practices deficiencies; integrity assessment deficiencies and inaccuracies and operational deficiencies and inaccuracies. My experience also includes pipeline failure-related soil contamination, damage to and/or destruction of property, and pipeline failure-related injuries and/or deaths to humans.
I have over 43 years of experience in natural gas and liquid hydrocarbon (crude oil, refined products) high-pressure, cross country and urban environment pipelines’ engineering, design, construction, pressure testing, integrity assessment and rehabilitation, construction management and project management.
I have designed/engineered pipelines in the urban streets of the Los Angeles basin for Southern California Pipeline System – a joint venture of Arco, Shell, Texaco and Chevron in California.
I have acted as the construction superintendent of construction crews laying miles of crude oil and natural gas pipelines for Chevron Pipe Line Company, valued at approximately $10 million, in California.
Additionally, I have managed construction crews in the construction of oil and gas pipelines for a major oil production company, valued at approximately $30 million, in the heavily-congested with existing underground utilities streets of Los Angeles County, California, with numerous challenging street and railroad crossings, using jack and bore and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) methods of construction.
