Areas of Expertise
My expert witness experience includes: Negligence: heavy armoire fall over, bus accident with fatalities; Products liability: articulated ladder defects, switchblade knife locking element; Breach of contract: fastener conformance to specifications, bottle-filling equipment; Contract fraud: inaccurate projected costs on firm fix-price contract; Patent payment conflict: pressure responsive electrical switches; Patent infringement: bulk scrap metal loading mechanism for shipping containers; Anti-trust: acquisition of a blind fastening technology company by a conglomerate.
My consulting services include: Solar power plant engineering; Fastener design and development; Mechanical engineering design; Patent infringement – infringement and validity analysis.
My professional experience includes: Owner of an engineering consulting firm that provides litigation consulting to attorneys; Decades of engineering experience.
I have served as an expert on over 20 cases, some of which involved cooking and kitchen equipment such as BBQ ovens and pressure cookers (stovetop and electric). I have also served as an expert on a trade dress (trademark) case.
I have served as an expert on several consumer products cases including defective countertop ovens, both stovetop and electric pressure cookers, knives and other products. I would like to know the nature of the defect–sharp edges, electrical shock, etc–because if the defect is electrical in nature it might be outside my area.
I have experience with wheelchair failures, casement window failure, window covering patent infringement, exploding pressure cookers, hook and loop (“Velcro”) patent infringement and many other patent infringement cases.
