Expertise DescriptionI have more than 10 years of Railroad Industry experience, with an extensive background in accident investigation, employee safety, derailment cause finding and prevention, track-train dynamics, distributed power operations, remote control locomotive operations, and train operations. I have investigated over 200 rail equipment accidents, employee injuries, rule violations and other types of incidents with a strong focus on detail and getting to the root cause to ensure the proper corrective actions and preventive measures are put in place. I also have comprehensive knowledge of the Federal Regulations Section 49, Parts 200-299. I have prior expert witness experience with consultation and deposition.

I have provided expert testimony for train accidents and employee personal injury cases in both the freight and passenger operations.
My consulting experience includes working with Passenger/Commuter and Freight Railroads. I have provided consulting services in Safety, Training, FRA Compliance, Operating Practices, Derailment Prevention, Transportation and Track Maintenance.
My background in the freight and passenger rail industries include experience as a freight conductor, locomotive engineer, manager of derailment prevention, director of derailment prevention and deputy general manager of safety, training and compliance. He has investigated numerous train accidents, employee personal injuries and rules violations along with many other safety and security issues.
While at Union Pacific Railroad I would review track and vehicle damage estimates from train derailments to determine if the cost were accurate and correct for reporting to Federal Railroad Administration.
