I have more than 20 years experience in the field of Developmental Psychology with specific expertise in Human Development and self-regulation in young children. I have experience with developmental neuroscience in relation to learning disabilities in children, intellectual development in cases of poverty, experimental neuropsychology, neurobiology, psychoneuroendocrinology, and other sciences contributing to behavioral and cognitive functions in children. I have additional experience with the development of cognitive abilities referred to as executive functions and the ways in which these aspects of cognition are important for school readiness and early school achievement. I am also interested in the development and evaluation of preschool and elementary school curricula designed to promote executive functions as a means of preventing school failure.
