Social Services Expert 501382 CA(N)

Expertise Description

My career in Mental Health and Social Services has spanned over 40 years with expertise in child and family mental health services, developmental disabilities services for children and adults, and community outreach programs. I have experience with training staff for mental health services, executive coaching, organizational reviews, Board development, strategic planning, expansion planning, budgetary and fiscal clinical and program supervision, fund development, and other consultation services.

Areas of Expertise

Professional Experiences

My experience includes the oversight and supervision of day programs for a wide range of ages, beginning at “toddler” programs for 2-5 year olds and mother/baby dads both in New York City and in the Bay Area. Additionally, I conceived, developed, and implemented a variety of day programs for 5 to 11 year olds, 12 to 18 year olds, and young adult, adult and seniors in the Bay Area. During the last 5 years, I have worked with attorneys representing the defendants of day programs for adolescents, young adults and adults.

Relevant Experiences

I developed and implemented group homes/residential facilities for adolescent and young adults for developmentally disabled clients, including those with autism. I am very familiar with standards of care, policies and procedures, training protocol, and State regulations and codes. I also developed a specialty group home program on our Oakland CA for autistic clients. Finally, it might be helpful to know that, under my leadership, the Youth Center developed residential and day treatment programs (still going strong) in San Diego County that also served clients from Inland County.

In my capacity as CEO of a mental health agency that provides services for adolescents and young adults, I developed, created and implemented residential AND day treatment programs for developmental and mental health disabilities, for this target population. I have a high level of comfort and expertise in the standard of care of the identified populations. Based on further discussions with the attorney and examination of the relevant documents, I will opine on the issues, as requested.
