Expertise DescriptionWith more than 25 years experience in the field of Performance Sporting Goods Design, my background has been focused on footwear, apparel and equipment. I have additional experience in design of products for special populations, including women, children, and disabled athletes. I have also spent time offering my services as a sporting goods design expert witness in the state of Oregon.
Areas of Expertise
My professional experience includes working as an Adjunct Professor. My responsibilities have included developing and teaching a bi-annual sports product design & merchandising class to students in Apparel Design, Merchandising and Engineering. I have also worked by teaching Apparel draping and advising graduate student thesis projects at the Masters and Doctoral level.
I have worked in the sports industry for over 25 years – designing and innovating sports footwear, apparel and equipment. I also teach footwear design, including how to make hiking shoes/boots/trail runners. I am fully knowledgable about water proof finishes/films – have even worked in the innovation space around inventing new finishes/films for sport water proofs. I also have connections to 3rd party testing labs that can test the quality of water proof materials. In addition to my design experience I am an avid hiker, recently hiking the Grand Canyon and South Sister Mountain.
