I was a police officer for 8 years. I am a member of the National Railroad Historical Society and a member of the National Model Railroad Association so I know a little about trains. I also model the only passenger railroad that is a class 1 railroad. I spent a great deal of time as a youngster traveling trains with my grandfather, a conductor on a passenger railroad.
I have been working in the area of impact biomechanics for the past 27 years. No degree program is available for the area of impact biomechanics. Rather, one learns impact biomechanics from courses taught at specific Councils and Associations. Medical professionals are not trained in impact biomechanics. Engineers will determine the direction of the force and the magnitude of the force and whether it is sufficient to cause the stated injury. I have testified in civil cases and criminal cases concerning impact biomechanics.
I am a civil engineer and specialize in traffic engineering. I am also a professional traffic operations engineer.
I have worked on transit plans for large cities and small cities, as well as ski resort areas in Colorado. Last year I also finished a safety study for the Chicago Transit on the placement of bus stops.
I testify as to lighting, levels of lighting for identifying objects, and visibility. I've done reconstruction of collisions, and I am a former police officer and traffic/transportation engineer. I testifed as to cone of vision, and I was an intelligence officer in the military and testified as to beginning morning civil and nautical twilight (daylight and beginning of visibility and distances). I have testified 52% for defense and 42% for plaintiff and the rest criminal cases.
